Behrend Women Handle Mt. Aloysius With Ease

Behrend women’s soccer enjoyed their most comfortable win of the season Saturday, September 23, when they stomped Mt. Aloysius 12-0.  Leading the way was Whitney Putnam (Erie/Villa Maria), who had three goals.  With the win, Behrend improves to 4-3-1 on the season and begins AMCC play 1-0.

Behrend went up early when Kim Chapman (Cranberry/Seneca Valley) received a pass from Danielle DeMay (Bethel Park/Bethel Park) that found the back of the net eight minutes in.  Nikki Frisbee (Valencia/Mars) made it a two goal game when she punched in a beautiful cross pass from Katie Ritchey (Butler/Butler).  Behrend dominated the time of possession throughout the first half and went into the break with 26 shots and 11 corners.

The blue and white turned it up in the second half, adding a total of 10 more goals before the final whistle.  Scoring in the second was led by Putnam with three and Jenna Haschets (Washington/Canon McMillan) who put in two.  Behrend defenders had a stellar performance, allowing just three shots in the game.  Behrend goalkeeper Kayla Frost (Venetia/Peters Township) was credited with her fourth shoutout win of the season.

Behrend will be in action again on September, 26 when they play host to conference rival Medaille.  Gametime is set for 2:00 p.m.
