- Describe your career field.
I teach and study the way people behave
in organizations. I talk about how to
effectively manage other people.
- How did you become interested
in this field?
Due to my work experience. I kept thinking
that there must be better ways to do
things.
- What education did you have to
obtain - how many years, what major,
degrees?
I have a Bachelor's degree in elementary
education, a Master's in Educational
Supervision, a Master's in Labor and
Human Resources, and a Ph.D. in Organizational
Behavior.
- What were you favorite subjects
in school?
Social studies, English, Geometry
- What's everyday life like in your
field?
I teach and do research. I talk to lots
of people and write.
- How do you balance a family and
career?
My career is very flexible. As long
as I teach my classes and continue to
publish research, I can set my own schedule.
I can also take time off in the summer
and during holidays to take care of
my 2 sons. I often hold meetings at
my home. My sons get involved in the
college activities too.
- What's the coolest thing about
your career?
Teaching and flexibility.
- Anything you would like to add?
The dues that one pays to be a college
professor are high, but the rewards
make it worthwhile.
