Penn State Behrend owns the land on which Knowledge Park sits and leases it to GEIDC through long-term phased leases as the development progresses. GEIDC serves as the developer and manager for the Knowledge Park with primary responsibility for development, financing, construction, and leasing, as well as maintenance of the facilities. GEIDC owns the buildings and leases them to qualified tenants with Penn State Behrend’s input and approval. Penn State Behrend’s main responsibility is the marketing of the park to prospects; both existing Penn State partners as well as target partners who meet the criteria established for prospective tenants.
