EDCEC Adds Tenant Relations Coordinator
Brower Recertified as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD)

Justin Lackey recently joined the Economic Development Corporation of Erie County as Tenant Relations Coordinator where he is responsible for coordinating all tenant activities in EDCEC owned facilities. He will also be responsible for assisting existing and potential Erie investors in finding suitable locations throughout the County. Previously, Lackey was employed by Mercyhurst College where he worked as an admissions counselor at the North East Campus. A graduate of Edinboro University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and Public Relations, Lackey is currently enrolled in the Applied Intelligence Master of Science degree program at Mercyhurst College. He has coached basketball for the Northwestern School District the past six years and is happily married to Katie Lackey who teaches in the Corry School District.

Monica Brower, President & CEO of the Economic Development Corporation of Erie County, was recently awarded recertification as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) by the International Economic Development Council. Recertification requires continued professional development in all areas of the field of economic development through publication of articles, presenting at conferences, and advanced training. Brower first achieved her CEcD designation in 2003. The initial CEcD process requires demonstration of broad economic development knowledge through course attendance as well as a comprehensive written and oral exam. Brower is one of only two economic development professionals in Erie County, and twelve in Pennsylvania, that has achieved this designation.
