AV Equipment
The Copy and Multimedia Center maintains a
large inventory of audio-visual equipment* in support of academic and other
related programs. Faculty and staff may sign out equipment for use in conjunction
with projects. Ordinarily, equipment is delivered, set up and returned by
a staff member. We encourage faculty
members, when possible, to submit a list of equipment needs for
a complete semester.
We will make every effort to meet your equipment needs;
however, we ask that you supply us with twenty-four
hours advance notice to ensure that your request can be accommodated.
Equipment reservations can be placed via the Equipment
Request Line (x6286) twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week, or the On-Line
Equipment Request Form. Please complete all applicable fields on the
form.

Equipment Malfunctions
All audio-visual equipment undergoes routine maintenance
but problems do occasionally occur. Please report any equipment malfunctions by calling x6121 (immediate needs)
or call x6116 for non-immediate repairs. Please give the location and nature
of problem). Every effort will be made to restore normal operations or replace
the defective item.

Equipment Training
Proper operation of AV equipment ensures better
presentations
and reduces the rate of mistakes. The Copy and Multimedia
Center has qualified staff to assist in becoming familiar with
equipment operation and the use of technology classrooms. Typically, equipment orientation sessions
are conducted at the beginning and mid-point of semesters, but anyone may
schedule one-on-one training by calling x6121.

Tape Dubbing / Editing / Instructional CD's
The Copy and Multimedia Center offers dubbing
of both audio cassettes and VHS videocassette formats as well as creation of
instructional CDs.
All dubbing requests
must be brought to the center, where you will receive assistance. Tape duplications
are performed in accordance with current copyright
laws. Dubs may be picked up the following day. CMC provides editing of VHS tapes. Editing requires time and attention
to detail, so please allow for ample production time by scheduling in advance.

Photography / Videography
The Copy and Multimedia Center maintains various
pieces of professional photo/video equipment to support development of instructional
materials and other related projects. Services include: slide scanning,
copy work, location / studio photography, passports, digital imaging, and videotaping of classes
and other events. To schedule your request, visit the office or call x6121
with detailed information.

Satellite / Video Conference
The Studio, located
in
Room 69 of the Kochel Center, is a video conference room used primarily
for satellite downlinks and videoconferencing meetings and classes. This room
will accommodate approximately thirty people comfortably.
Satellite downlinks usually require a registration before technical information
will be sent for the satellite dish. Please call the CMC Office (x6121)
to reserve the room before registering with any company for a downlink to
ensure that we can provide the service to you.
Videoconferencing (PolyCom) meetings and classes require compatible
units on both ends. Please call x6121 to reserve time. If this is
a point-to-point call, it is best to decide which party will be placing the
call. If there are more than two points involved, this will require a bridge
reservation and additional time to arrange this type of meeting (usually ten
days).

Instructional Films and Video Tapes
Videotapes and 16mm films are available from the University
Park collection at no charge to faculty for classroom use. University Park
will allow three days for the use of a video or film. All films and videos
held at University Park are listed with descriptions on LIAS.
Films and videos can be ordered over the Internet, or you can call our office
at x6121 with the film/video title, catalog number, and show date, and we
will then order them for you. Depending on the availability of the film/video,
we can usually get it here within three days.
All films and videos come directly to the CMC Office; at that time we will send
a notice to you that the film/video is here. This notice is also our work order.
Please complete this form with the room, date and time you plan to use this
film/video and return the form to us so we can have your film/video set up for
your class.
