8-27-03 PENN STATE BEHREND RATED "BEST VALUE" IN NATIONAL SURVEY The National Survey of High School Guidance Counselors has placed Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, among the top sixty schools offering students the best value for their tuition dollar. The survey was conducted for Kaplan Publishing. "Penn State Behrend is committed to quality, and a Behrend College degree has always been a great value for students," said Dr. Jack Burke, campus executive officer and dean. It's particularly satisfying to be recognized nationally for our high-quality programs." The 2003 National Survey of High School Guidance Counselors was conducted by Market Measurement, a national market research firm. The survey used a random sample of counselors in public, private, and Catholic high schools in the United States obtained from Dun and Bradstreet. In addition to statistical information, counselors across the country were invited to share insights about their colleges. The survey results were recently released in the 2004 edition of The Unofficial, Unbiased Guide to the 328 Most Interesting Colleges. Penn State Behrend serves more than 3,700 students and offers thirty baccalaureate degrees. Master's degrees in business administration and manufacturing systems engineering are offered, and a master's in project management will begin next fall.
