HARBORCREEK TOWNSHIP AND
PENN STATE BEHREND HOST LABOR DAY FIREWORKS

Area residents are invited to the campus of Penn State Behrend on Monday, September 1, for a Labor Day Fireworks Celebration sponsored by the Penn State Behrend Student Activity Fee, the Office of Student Affairs, and Harborcreek Township. Fireworks are set to begin at 10:00 p.m. on the Behrend Fields.

"This year's fireworks celebrate many things. It is the start of a new academic year for our students, Harborcreek Township's bicentennial, and a great way to recognize Labor Day" said Chris Rizzo, director of Student Activities. "We are happy to collaborate with the township in a show that area residents will undoubtedly enjoy."

The fireworks highlight Penn State Behrend's New Student Orientation and welcome back returning students. This year Penn State has initiated a new University-wide academic calendar that puts the first day of classes on September 2.

Parking for this event is available on campus, with special assistance for persons with disabilities available at the Logan House parking lot. Guests may wish to bring blanket or lawn chairs. For more information about the fireworks, call 814-898-6171.
