POET AL MAGINNES TO READ AT BEHREND

Poet Al Maginnes will read as part of Penn State Behrend's Creative Writers Speaker Series. The reading will be held on Thursday, November 11, at 6:00 p.m. in the Smith Chapel. A reception will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Smith Chapel living room. Both the reading and reception are free and open to the public.

Maginnes is the author of two books, Taking Up Our Daily Tools (1997) and The Light in Our Houses (2000), which won the Lena Miles Wever Todd Award.

His poems have been published in numerous journals including Poetry, The New England Review, The Georgia Review, Quarterly West, Antioch Review, and Mid-American Review. He earned a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council, and he teaches at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina.
