9-14-04 REBECCA BUTLER TO SPEAK AT PENN STATE BEHREND On Monday, September 20, at 8:00 p.m., internationally recognized speaker Rebecca Butler will present her Respect program to student leaders at Penn State Behrend. She will return the next morning to speak to the coaching staff at 8:00 a.m. The 8:00 p.m. talk in Room 117 in the Reed Union Building is free and open to the public. For more than five years, Butler has been a leader in the movement to stop gender violence. She has given nearly 200 presentations in fourteen states to a long list of clients that includes the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, the Coast Guard Academy, the American College Health Association, and dozens of colleges around the country. Butler goes beyond telling people what not to do. She teaches concrete, positive skills that empower women and men alike to enjoy great relationships and dating experiences and dramatically reduce the risk of violence in their lives. Her goal is to help students prevent sexual assault and relationship violence by teaching healthy relationships and sexual respect. Contact: Jen Town 814-898-6522 e-mail: jlt234@psu.edu
