Buckyball inventor to speak at Behrend on Nov. 28 Donald Huffman, co-inventor of the first process to mass produce the famous molecule known as buckminsterfullerene, will speak on "The Race to Catch a Buckyball" at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, on Monday, Nov. 28. His lecture will be held at 4 p.m. in Otto Behrend Science Building, room 114. Huffman is Regents Professor Emeritus of Physics at the University of Arizona, Tucson. The buckyball, an affectionate name for the soccer ball-shaped molecule made of 60 carbon atoms, led to the discovery of a third solid form of carbon to join diamond and graphite.
