Scarpino Appointed Coordinator for Public Information
Suzanne M. Scarpino has been appointed to the coordinator for public information position within the Office of Marketing Communication at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.
“We are delighted to have Suzanne on board,” said Dewayne Wright, director of Marketing Communication. “As an Erie native and Penn State alumna, she is enthusiastic about Behrend and its relationship with the community. She will be a great asset.”
Scarpino holds primary responsibility for planning, developing and implementing public information programs at Penn State Behrend. She will respond to media inquiries, coordinate special media events and news conferences, and research and write various news stories and articles.
Prior to this position, Scarpino served as senior account manager for Marketing Communications Inc. in Washington, Pa. for more than four years. She was responsible for writing and editing copy for news and feature articles, corporate and product literature, plus domestic and international publications. She also coordinated international trade shows.
Additionally she held positions as the public relations writer for the Tillman Group in Erie and as a media representative for the local Party City store.
Scarpino earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Penn State in University Park, Pa.
