Clemson Carillonneur Performs July 20 Linda Dzuris, the first person to be appointed University Carillonneur at Clemson, will perform as part of the Smith Carillon Series at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. Dzuris will play the college’s 48-bell Floyd and Juanita Smith Carillon beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 20. The concert is free and open to the public. Seating will be on the lawn of the John M. Lilley Library, so concertgoers are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket. Refreshments will be served. Dzuris also is an assistant professor at Clemson, and an adjudicator on the examination committee of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America. A native of Michigan, she earned her bachelor, master’s, and doctoral degrees in organ performance and church music at University of Michigan. Dzuris also studied at the Romainmôtier Summer Institute in Switzerland and the Nederlandse Beiaardschool in Amersfoort, The Netherlands. She has performed as an organist and carillonneur here and in Europe. Charles Dairay, carillonneur for Orchies, France, will conclude the series on Thursday, July 27.
