Evening’s Full Moon Benefits “Music at Noon” The Penn State Behrend Alumni Society is hosting a Full Moon Fundraiser at Paper Moon Restaurant on Tuesday, June 13, from 6 – 9 p.m. to benefit The Logan Music Series: Music at Noon and the Penn State Behrend Alumni Society scholarship. Located at 1325 State Street in downtown Erie, Paper Moon’s Full Moon fundraisers are held each full moon. The philanthropic evening will feature 24 celebrity bartenders, who represent faculty and staff, alumni and the alumni society board, plus University Trustees and Council of Fellows members. Among those scheduled to “tend for tips” are Jack Burke, chancellor of Penn State Erie, The Behrend College; Ted Junker, University Trustee; Joe Benacci, Kurt Buseck and Scott McCain, who are each members of the Penn State Behrend Council of Fellows; Vickie Lampe, vice president and manager of client and community relations for PNC Bank, and the event’s chairperson and Penn State Behrend alumni society board member; Scott Mitchell, director of community relations for the Erie Zoo; Aaron Rospierski, president of the Penn State Behrend Alumni Society; Jim Kurre, associate professor of economics; and Brian Streeter, director of athletics. The Logan Music Series, which is embarking on its 17th year, offers free performances intended to broaden the experience of the Penn State Behrend community and Diehl School students, an inner-city elementary school adopted by the college. During the 2005-06 academic year, the series featured Imani Winds, Trio Johannes and Lenora Zenzalai Helm, among others. The Penn State Behrend Alumni Society scholarship funds are raised or donated by Penn State Behrend alumni and benefits the college’s students. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Rebecca Grimaldi, assistant director of development and alumni relations, at 814-898-6159.
