Penn State Behrend Invites Alumni to Annual Reunion Weekend

The Penn State Behrend Alumni Society and Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, are hosting the ninth annual alumni gathering from October 20-22. Held in conjunction with Parents and Families Weekend at Penn State Behrend, the weekend’s events are open to the college’s more than 22,500 alumni.

All events are free of charge unless indicated otherwise. Registrations are appreciated and are still being accepted.

Friday, Oct. 20:
- 7-9 p.m.: The weekend’s festivities kick-off with an alumni reception at Logan House
- 7:30 p.m.: “Monster Black Holes,” an Open House in Astronomy hosted by Roger Knacke, director of the School of Science and professor of physics and astronomy; 101 Otto Behrend Science Building

Saturday, Oct. 21:
- Noon-2 p.m.: Free autumn harvest lunch
- 3-6 p.m.: Lake Shore wine tasting tour (free of charge)
- Horse-drawn trolley rides
- An afternoon jazz concert
- Autumn tours of the Penn State Behrend Arboretum
- Opportunity to indulge in Penn State Creamery ice cream
- 3-5 p.m.: Nine-hole golf scramble at Harbor Ridge Golf Course ($25 per player)
- 6 p.m.: Chancellor Jack Burke’s reception and Family Murder Mystery dinner theatre, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. ($15 per person for adults)

On Saturday, reunions will be hosted for the Sam and Irene Black School of Business, School of Engineering, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and School of Science, as well as for the classes of 1981, 1996 and 2001, for their 25-, 10- and five-year reunions, respectively.

Sunday, Oct. 22:
- 10 a.m.-Noon: Sunday brunch with Chancellor Jack Burke wraps up the weekend at Logan House ($13 per person for adults)

Since its inception in 1987, the Penn State Behrend Alumni Society has developed a variety of programs and activities for alumni to continue their relationship with the college. The society organizes the annual reunion and networking events, facilitated the creation of an endowed scholarship to provide students with another source of financial aid, and serves as a resource for alumni, faculty and staff alike.
