“American Originals” Concert is April 23
The concert band and jazz ensemble at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, will perform their “American Originals” program on Monday, April 23.
The concert begins at 8:00 p.m. in the McGarvey Commons of the Reed Union Building. Admission is free.
Both groups perform under the direction of Gary Viebranz, the college’s director of instrumental music. On the program are selections by Aaron Copland, William Schumann, Clifton Williams, and Edwin Franko Goldman. The jazz ensemble will present a tribute to Maynard Ferguson featuring local trumpet player Jeff Gibbens as the guest soloist.
