Penn State Behrend Leads University’s Enrollment Increase
Enrollment at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, grew by 332 students this year, to a record-high 4,171 students in resident instruction programs, according to official student census figures released by the University last week. Penn State Behrend also had the largest enrollment increase of any University location, including University Park. An additional 252 graduate students are served by the college through Penn State’s online World Campus as they pursue a master’s degree in Project Management or an intercollege Masters of Business Administration degree. “This is an exciting era at Penn State Behrend, which has been reflected in a steady increase in applications and enrollments,” Jack Burke, chancellor of the college, noted. “We’re growing larger in terms of programs and facilities, and prospective students recognize that we deliver a high-quality and valuable Penn State degree in a student-centered environment.” Overall, Penn State retained its status as one of America’s most popular universities. University-wide enrollment this fall totals 90,609, including 85,600 students in resident instruction programs and another 5,009 students enrolled in World Campus. |
