Plastics Training Academy Spring Schedule Announced

The Plastics Training Academy created last year at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, has announced its spring workforce development classes.

“Formalization of a Plastics Training Academy through Continuing Education produced a convenient, one-stop information center for companies and individuals,” said Brad Johnson, chair of the Society of Plastics Engineers’ nationwide Injection Molding Division and a lecturer in engineering at the college. “This is a natural extension of the courses, workshops and seminars we’ve provided to industry for years.”

The Plastics Training Academy also offers company-specific contract workshops and seminars on site; most recently Penn State Behrend instructors have traveled to Texas, Georgia, Alabama, and New Jersey to present in-house training.

Classes scheduled this spring in Penn State Behrend’s 10,500-square-foot plastics processing laboratory—the largest academic plastics lab in the country—are:

March

March 10-12: Injection Molding Principles

March 12-14: Injection Molding Troubleshooting

March 13-14: The Science of Mold and Part Design Optimization

May
