Michael Fritts
Class of 2005
Management Information Systems
Erie, Pennsylvania
I have had a lot of fun going to Behrend. All the students have been great. I’ve made a million friends and I’ve been able to go after the activities I want to do. Behrend is the kind of place that grows on everybody and it grew on me.
Michael Fritts chose Penn State Behrend for two reasons. His brother graduated from Behrend and Michael saw how successful he was after receiving his degree. Michael also wanted to attend a school with strong technology and engineering programs.
“I saw how quickly Behrend helped my brother get a job and the success he has had because of Behrend’s strong educational foundation,” Michael said. “I knew that Behrend tries to be on the cutting edge with technology and engineering type degrees.”
Michael’s favorite class was Management Reporting Systems because it was applicable to his future career and was taught by Dr. Ido Millet, associate professor of management information systems.
“Dr. Millet has had the biggest impact on me because he never settles for something being good enough. Dr. Millet always wants the best,” Michael said. “He was also a great reference for me in obtaining an MIS internship, which has helped me greatly.”
Michael, with his interest in hockey, thought Behrend should have a club for his favorite sport. What did he do? He started one.
“I love that if I wanted to do something at Behrend there was always an outlet for me, whether is was to start a new club or join and existing one,” he said. “I found there is something for everybody at this school. Then to top it off, the education and level of excellence of the professors was more than I expected.”
