Dr. Peg Thoms, Professor of Management and Director of the MBA Program

Ph.D., Ohio State University (1994): Research and teaching interests include leadership, organizational vision, leadership development, self-managed work teams, and human resources management. She has received the Professor of the Year Award for Best Core Course in the Penn State Erie MBA program, and the Walter F. Ulmer, Jr. Award for Applied Research in Leadership given by the Center for Creative Leadership, among several other research and teaching awards. Dr. Thoms has previous industry experience as a manager with Central Benefits Mutual Insurance Company and The Midland Mutual Insurance Company and consulting experience with National City Bank, Vacuform Industries, Millcreek Community Health Systems, American Ambulance Company, Elyria Memorial Hospital, GTE, General Electric Company, The Columbus Arts Council, and Peer Review Systems. She is the author of three books on leadership as well as numerous articles in academic journals.
