Ann Faulds is the associate director for the Delaware River program
area. Ann is active in watershed education, fish consumption communications,
and AIS outreach. Other specialties include wetland, stream, and lake
ecology, and aquatic entomology.
Ann is an aquatic biologist with
more than twenty years experience in science instruction and aquatic
resource education. Prior to working with Pennsylvania Sea Grant, Ann
taught in the Biology Department of West Chester University, where
she received her master's degree in 1998. Ann has been with Pennsylvania
Sea Grant since August 2001.
Items to note:
- Serves as chair of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Panel
on AIS Outreach and Education workgroup.
- Collaborated with Maryland
Sea Grant and Delaware Sea Grant to land a supplemental National
Sea Grant AIS grant to plan and deliver Invasive
Species: the Good, the Bad and the Prolific, a multistate series of professional development
workshops for teachers.
- Along with a host of collaborators, served
as primary author of Fish Smart, Eat Smart
Fish and What Women Need
to Know About Mercury in Fish and Shellfish. Provided technical support
for the development of effective community-based safe fish consumption
outreach efforts.
- Developed funding and provided leadership to
support of the Delaware Estuary Flathead Catfish Research and Outreach
Consortium to raise awareness of potential problems and identify
research and outreach priorities.
