AIS of PA Poster Aquatic invasive species are considered one of the greatest threats to freshwater biodiversity worldwide!

This site will provide you with information on the top aquatic invasive species (AIS) of concern in the major watersheds throughout Pennsylvania. AIS are an important environmental issue. Each year more and more AIS are brought into our waterways and threaten the delicate balance of our ecosystems. In the Great Lakes alone, over 180 species have been introduced, with a trend of one new invasive species introduced every six to eight months. Learning more about the issues which surround AIS can help prevent their spread and can help protect our waterways.
