Aquaculture

Pennsylvania Sea Grant staff has been an active leader in promoting aquaculture in Pennsylvania. To date, Sea Grant has supported the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture in sponsoring the Penn Aquaculture Conference through financial and technical support; collaborated with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Penn State's School of Forest Resources to evaluate the feasibility of developing an aquaculture support center at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Northeast Fisheries Center in Lamar, Pennsylvania; and provided financial support to the University of Pennsylvania for aquaculture research.

It is the goal of Pennsylvania Sea Grant to establish an aquaculture outreach program in Pennsylvania. For more information regarding aquaculture in Pennsylvania, contact Eric Obert.
