Extension - Sustainable Land Use
This
current effort of Pennsylvania Sea Grant not only involves ecosystem-related
research and education, but also aims to provide technical assistance
to organizations and municipalities with implementation of on-the-ground
projects that incorporate sustainable land use techniques.
Pennsylvania Sea Grant staff promotes sustainable land use through its Coastal Communities Program. The Coastal Communities and Economies Theme Team literature, produced by the National Sea Grant Office, states "Sustainable development is about assisting coastal communities in protecting their environmental amenities, strengthening their economies, and improving their quality of life."
